About Point Forward

Point Forward is the way our alumni, churches and friends can contribute to the enhancement of the educational experiences of Point University students. Just as students’ lives are transformed as they study at Point, the University too can be transformed – by the generosity of those who support the Point Forward campaign. Several years ago, a team of trustees, administrators and campus planning experts determined that our East Point location alone – surrounded as it is by residential areas – could not accommodate our planned growth. In fall 2007, we began searching for a new location to expand. Since that time, total University enrollment has more than tripled. In early 2011, after much consideration and prayerfully seeking God’s will, the trustees unanimously agreed that God has called us to relocate the traditional, residential program to West Point.

Founded in 1832, the idyllic town of West Point is home to 3,500 residents along a scenic stretch of the Chattahoochee River on the I-85 corridor just an hour southwest of Atlanta. Formerly a commercial hub for textile production, today’s West Point has a growing economy as home to Kia Motors’ first U.S. automotive plant. West Point also features a walkable, historic downtown with an eclectic assortment of shops and eateries. Cultural opportunities in the area include a community theater, a 600-seat town auditorium and a local outdoor amphitheater. The town sits just downstream from the 26,000-acre West Point Lake, offering 500 miles of shoreline for fishing, camping and water sports. This bold move increases our capacity to provide a quality Christian education to more students and to expand our athletic program to offer a more complete college experience.
