College is one of the most exciting times in a student’s life, but it is also one of the most stressful. Moving away from home, learning to study and take tests in a whole new way, getting to know new people… all of these changes can produce anxiety, depression or other difficulties.

Any student who is struggling to adjust, or is simply going through a tough time in life, is encouraged to seek counseling through the Spiritual Formation Office. Point University utilizes a counseling intern in providing on-campus counseling services for students. Students desiring counseling may also be referred to appropriate off-campus services. Consultations are confidential and free of charge.

To schedule an appointment, you may email the counselor, Lindsey Petersen, or call her directly at 706-385-1024. You may also make an appointment by emailing Dr. Moffatt or visiting the counselor's office in person. The counselor's office in West Point is located in  Room 214/216 in the Academic Center. Counseling hours for the fall semester are Tuesdays from 2 - 5 p.m., Wednesdays from 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. and 1 - 4 p.m., and Thursdays from 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. - 3 p.m. Appointments are made on a first-come, first-served basis.

East Point counseling hours are from 2-7 p.m. on Thursdays and are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Prior to the first session, please pick up and fill out an intake form located just outside the counselor's office, or go to the Access Admission Office to pick up a form.
