Point University's intramural sports program provides a competitive environment for students to participate in a variety of fun athletic activities. Every student at Point University is welcome to compete in intramural sports. Participating in the intramurals program allows students to work on a team, providing an avenue to channel their competitive spirit, expand their range of activities and interests, learn teamwork, and increase their physical activity.
Point offers a wide variety of intramural league sports. The leagues typically last four to six weeks with a playoff tournament lasting one week. The teams are made up of Point University students, faculty, staff and alumni. Each student is encouraged to play as many intramural sports as they see fit. However, the intramural department recognizes that academics come first. Therefore any student who is on academic or disciplinary probation must get approval from the Vice President for Student Development. Student-athletes who play at the intercollegiate level must obtain permission from their coacesh in order to play an intramural sport.
Employment Opportunities
The intramural staff is always looking for referees as well as score keepers for each sport, especially students who have experience in playing or officiating those sports. Starting with the 2011-12 academic year, the intramural department will have a Student Supervisor Team. This team will consist of six to 10 students who will help supervise specific intramural sports. Positions are open to all students, but will be selected by the intramural department. If you are interested in refereeing, scorekeeping or the Student Supervisor team, please contact the Student Development Office.
