What is a OneCard?
The Point OneCard is the official identification and on-campus debit card. The OneCard is the property of the Point University and should be carried with the cardholder at all times.
May anyone else use my card?
The OneCard is not transferable. Altering or lending the card may subject the cardholder to disciplinary action. Only the person pictured on the OneCard will be allowed to use the card, although you may use the card to buy items for other people if you wish.
Who is responsible for my OneCard?
The OneCard holder is responsible for monitoring the debit transactions at the time of the sale and for monitoring the current Account balances.
May I charge on my OneCard?
No. The OneCard is NOT a credit card. You may only purchase items if you have that amount of money in the account at that time. Purchase returns will be credited to the cardholder's OneCard account.
May I take cash out of my account?
No. Cash refunds and withdrawals are not permitted. The OneCard is not an ATM card; it is for purchases only.
How many times can the card be used?
There are no limitations on the number of times the OneCard may be used, or the dollar amount of any transaction, as long as the purchase amount does not exceed the balance in the OneCard account.
What if I lose my OneCard?
Lost, stolen, or misplaced OneCards must be immediately reported to the Information Technology Office, located on the second floor of the Academic Center (706-385-1016). Business hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 5 p.m.
How much does it cost to replace my OneCard?
There is a replacement fee of $65 per card for lost, stolen or misplaced cards. If your missing card is found after a replacement card has been issued, the old card must be destroyed, as it is no longer useable due to deactivation. Purchases will not be allowed with a deactivated card.
How and where do I make deposits?
Deposits to your OneCard account may be made at the receptionist's desk in Burns Hall or online. Cash, check, money orders or credit cards will be accepted as the method of payment.
What happens to my OneCard account balance between semesters?
The OneCard account balance will carry over to the next semester of the same academic year. Balances do not carry over from academic year to academic year.
What happens if I don't use all the money I've deposited into the account?
Refunds may be applied for by the OneCard holder, in person or in writing, at the end of the semester in which he or she graduates or any time during the semester if the cardholder officially withdraws from classes at Point. There will be a $30.00 administrative fee upon closing your OneCard account.
