Education students are encouraged to use the Teacher Media Center (TMC) to prepare materials for class presentations and lab experiences. The TMC is located in Room 222, next door to the Education classroom. The TMC's purpose is to provide materials and resources necessary for the early childhood education, middle grades education and child and youth development, and to provide a hands-on training center for the Teacher Education Program.
The TMC contains materials for laboratory experiences and for work on course assignments; children's literature; elementary textbooks and curricula; pattern books; audiovisual media; and educational software. Available equipment includes a laminating machine, opaque projector, binding equipment, letter cutter and dies, four computers for student use, a color printer, digital camera and digital camcorders.
Though designed specifically for the education programs at Point, the TMC contains materials that other degree program students are welcome to use and purchase. Index cards, file folders, poster board and display boards are among the many items offered to students at a low cost.
