One of the significant values of being educated in the context of a Christian university like Point University is the focus we place on spiritual formation. While we will do our very best to provide every student here with an excellent academic experience, we are also committed to helping every student along the journey toward maturity in Christ.
The college years are extraordinarily important for a number of reasons. It is at college that most of us learn to function on our own as adults, without the daily guidance of our parents. It is at college that we learn things that will be important to us as we enter the world of adult responsibilities and start out on a vocational path in life. It is at college that we make friends with people who will likely be an important part of our lives throughout our adult years.
But it is also at college that we face the crucial task of making the faith we have borrowed – from our parents, our church family, or from an important mentor like our minister or youth minister – our own faith. One of the most important of all your college experiences will be the inevitable decision every student is likely to make about faith.
We are committed to helping make that process productive. As you
look through our spiritual formation brochure (or in its more detailed presentation in
A Covenant for a Christian Community), please know that every aspect of our approach to spiritual formation at Point is designed to help you in your own journey toward spiritual maturity. Our concern is not “where you are” spiritually when you enter Point, but “where you are headed” while here and when you graduate.
