Procurement and Sustainability Specialist
The procurement and sustainability specialist serves as representative of University end-user community for procurement of goods and services consistent with sound business practice and applicable regulations. Leads effort to foster sustainability throughout the University. Reports to the controller.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manages and maintains purchasing policies and procedures including purchase order system
- Champions University commitment to promote and foster sustainability in managing the physical and consumable resources of the institution
- Interfaces with internal customers to determine needs and matches requisitions with approved vendors or suppliers
- Maintains vendor database and approval process for new vendors
- Files all procurement related documentation and assists internal customers with equipment or product information, pricing and/or alternate items and sources
- Develops and maintains diversity utilization reports for preparation and submission to appropriate reporting agencies
- Contacts suppliers or vendors to expedite deliveries or resolve service interruptions or other issues
- Interviews and corresponds with vendors to stay informed on new products and market conditions
- Manages complaints from end-users and resolves non-conforming issues
- Analyzes and evaluates information to choose the best solution to solve problems and resolve issues while making for efficient use of provided resources
- Maintains vendor adherence to contract and university requirements or guidelines
- Acts as liaison as representative member of Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education (AASHE)
- Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in related field
- Demonstrated working knowledge of procurement practices and sustainability
- Five years related experience preferably in non-profit or education
- Ability to foster open communication and collaboration by creating a supportive environment
- Knowledge of accounting, account reconciliation, and correcting errors in accounting transactions
- Demonstrated skill in purchasing and accounts payable systems
- Knowledge of electronic purchasing, e-commerce and industry practices
- Strong Word and Excel skills and familiarity with Project, Publisher and Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent communication skills with proven ability to interface with diverse clientele including vendors, sales representatives, students and University staff
- Demonstrated skill in writing clear, concise, logical and grammatically correct business correspondence and analyses

Staff Accountant
Staff Accountant assists with preparing correspondence related to all accounting functions, solves practical problems, and calculates figures and amounts with a number of variables in different situations. Reports to: Controller
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assists in reviewing and preparing monthly financial statements
- Prepares financial reports and documents as directed
- Reviews balancing and reconciling of general ledger
- Reviews and maintains clearing and suspense accounts to ensure proper coding
- Prepare year end and monthly close out reports
- Prepare reports and/or retrieve financial data for audits
- Assists in preparation of tax returns and 990 forms
- Analyze financial data to assess trends in the financial operations and report results
- Review special reports and questionnaires including IPEDS, NACUBO, GICA and development giving
- Assemble and disseminate financial reporting for grants and contracts
- Maintain and authorize revenue and scholarship schedules
- Reconciliation of Title IV funds and other accounts
- Posting to general ledger and prepare journal entries
- Registration and renewal of business licenses
- Prepare sales tax returns
- Assist with IPEDS and related government reporting

Director for Technology Infrastructure and Services
Point University is seeking a Director for Technology Infrastructure and Services to join the Information Technology department. Reporting directly to the vice president for technology and chief information officer (CIO), the director for technology infrastructure and services leads and manages all efforts to deliver a reliable and secure IT infrastructure. This position is located in West Point, Georgia.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The director for technology infrastructure and services will supervise the systems, network and helpdesk teams. The director will oversee the provision of core services including e-mail, directory and authentication services, IT architecture, SAN storage, IT security, networks and telecommunications systems, backup and restore services, disaster recovery and server virtualization. The director will provide strategic and operational leadership to all infrastructure functions within the Information Technology Department, including overseeing day-to-day operations.
Key responsibilities include establishing best practices and written procedures for system and network administration functions on all servers, local and wide-area networks and wireless; overseeing the professional development and mentoring of staff; performing short and long-term systems planning, including replacement, installation, support, maintenance, and continuous improvement for servers, storage, network switches and wireless access points; and managing the helpdesk services.
Other duties will include regular communication and coordination with various departments on the campus community. The director must be available on the weekends and after hours since IT provides 24/7 support for critical systems.
REQUIREMENTS
- A bachelor’s degree
- A minimum five years of significant experience with system and network administration
- Experience planning and managing systems in a medium-to-large environment
- Experience using Linux, Windows 2008 Server, Exchange Mail servers and VMware
- In-depth knowledge of identity and access management, IT security, backup and restore services and disaster recovery
- Experience using HP and Cisco networks, firewalls, routers, switches and wireless access points
- Excellent listening, written and oral communication skills
- The ability to carefully manage resources for maximum return
- Experience in higher education is strongly preferred

Access Program: Enrollment Specialist - Community Engagement and Recruitment
POSITION SUMMARY
The primary responsibility of this position is to generate leads for the Access Adult and Professional Studies program. As a representative of Point University, the enrollment specialist must have specific knowledge of the degree programs and a superior understanding of the target audiences for which the programs are designed. This individual must have marketing experience and demonstrate excellent communication skills. Enrollment specialists work in conjunction with the director of enrollment as a member of the enrollment team to support the development of initiatives which generate leads, inquiries and applicants for the Access program. Significant travel in assigned territory is required.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Identify organizations that will produce an ongoing stream of leads.
- Meet with influencers at targeted organizations and present Point University program opportunities.
- Create presentation materials in accordance with the institutional branding guidelines.
- Consult with the director of enrollment to establish target recruitment goals.
- Suggest revisions and additions to the annual marketing plan as opportunities to promote the various programs are discovered or needed.
- Develop relationships with employers and supervisors.
- Participate in career development fairs, education fairs, conventions and conferences.
- Submit weekly/monthly reports of activities, plans and calls to the director of enrollment.
- Regularly review brochures, website and other printed materials to ensure accuracy of description of the various programs (i.e. admission requirements, curriculum, prerequisites, cost, etc.).
- Other tasks as assigned.

- Strong computer skills ( email, applicant database software, MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Publisher, etc.)
- Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills.

- Willingness and ability to travel between campuses and other locations for meetings, events, etc.
- Ability to work independently, especially in the area of arranging and conducting information meetings and campus visits.
