What brought you to Point University?

My husband and I were recruited to begin a music degree program.

What are some of your hobbies?

Cooking, participating in 5K fund raising events, photography, reading.

What advice would you give to new students?

Never give up. Follow your passions (they are gifts from God). Be grateful (God loves a grateful heart.)

What are your research interests?

Contemporary and Traditional Music Theory Pedagogy, Piano Pedagogy

Are there any interesting facts about yourself that you would like to share with new or current Point students?

I love to play the piano and read music theory books. I am a life time member of Weight Watchers. My husband, is Dr. Byron Cartwright, chairman of the Fine Arts Department at Point University. We have 2 married children and 5 glorious grandchildren.
