Rusty Hassell
Chief Enrollment Officer

Point has been a part of my life in one way or another since I was born. Both of my parents, Chuck Hassell ’81 and Tammy Henderson Hassell ’80, graduated from Point, so it just seemed like the natural decision to transfer there in 2007 after attending two other institutions. During my time at Point, I was highly involved in several areas including our men’s soccer team and served as a Campus Life Minister my senior year. In May of 2009, I received my bachelor of science in business administration with minors in biblical studies and sports management and completed my M.S. in sports management in 2016.
Upon completing my undergraduate degree, I spent time working for Christian Financial Resources, Inc., teaching, and even working as an admission representative at another institution. I have been serving in the Point admission office since July 2011 and now serve as the Chief Enrollment Officer. Believing in the mission of Point is what keeps me engaged in the yearly enrollment cycle and invested in the lives of our students. Point has impacted my life in ways that can’t be confined to this short bio, but every day I go to work knowing that I am truly blessed to be a part of the Point story and ministry.
If you would like to know more about my story or how Point can be a part of making your own story, please feel free to contact me at 706-784-8685 or email me. Until then, go Skyhawks!

I grew up in south Alabama and graduated from Troy University with a degree in marketing. I came to this area to work for the local textile company and have lived here most of my adult life. In fact, I worked in the building that is now Point’s Academic Center for over 20 years when it was part of the textile company. I was Point University’s first local hire when they decided to move the campus to West Point, and it was my job to assist the university during the planning and moving process. I have watched our campus transition from a few empty buildings to the beautiful campus it is today; full of great students and caring faculty and staff. It is now my opportunity, as part of the admission team, to share campus experiences with visitors and prospective students. I also get to share Point University with the rest of the community, actively working with area Chambers of Commerce, local churches and businesses.
If you would like to schedule a visit to Point University, please give me a call at 706-784-8505 or email me. It would be my pleasure to share our campus with you!

I graduated from Columbus State University in 2016 with a bachelor of business administration in marketing and went on to graduate with my MBA from Point University in 2022. I grew up here in West Point and have been a part of this amazing city my whole life. I love the life in a small town because of all the great relationships that you make with everyone on a daily basis. I also love the fact that since Point University has opened its doors here, the city has grown exponentially and has become a place centered on Christ. I have been blessed with the opportunity to talk about the city that I adore and tell people of all the great things that they can accomplish at Point University through Christ-centered service and leadership.
We want to be the bridge from who you are now to who you want to be and for you to make life-long connections here as well. If you want to be a part of the bigger picture or have any questions, please feel free to contact me at 706-784-8504 or by email.

I graduated from Point University December 2018 and received my bachelor of science in exercise science. While attending Point University, I was a part of the football team for four years and upon graduation became a student assistant coach. While a student at Point, I also served in Student Life as a Campus Life Minister (CLM), Connect Leader and as a Graduate Assistant Mentor. I also had the opportunity to travel and represent the school through Point’s PR teams, attending various camps and conferences in the Southeast. I am extremely grateful that Point allowed me to be a part of their story, while I created my own.
Through my time at Point University, my relationship with Christ has grown stronger as I was inspired and mentored by a countless number of students and staff. Coming out of Point University, I have grown personally and professionally. I’m excited for this new opportunity to help potential students become a part of the Point University family. Feel free to contact me at 706-784-8610 or send me an email.

While attending Point I grew stronger in my faith, in community, in my athletic career and in my academic career. Point University has impacted my life in countless ways, and it is a joy to continue my professional career serving at a school that is so close to my heart.

I graduated from Point University in 2020 with a bachelor of science in music performance. I was a part of the marching band and was heavily involved in the Fine Arts program. I spent time involved in MusiKids, concert choir, concert band and Signature Voices.
Growing up in the area, I never knew this special place would have such a wonderful impact on the community. The decision to make Point University my college home was one of the best decisions I have ever made! Music is something that found me in grade school, and God never let me lose the gift that he gave me. I was thrilled to be a part of the music program at Point. Being involved in music also led to a lot of other ministries, such as Feast, volunteering for Spring Road where I grew up attending, and many opportunities in the local community. Community is where I see God working the most in my personal life, and it is something that brings joy to my heart daily. I can say that the Point community changed me and allowed me to see a different perspective of life. God has always told me that my mission was not complete here in this community, but I truly never knew what that meant for me. Once I graduated college, I knew that I had to give up my life and allow God to move the way he thought I should. Once you truly submit to God, there are no limits to where he can lead you. This decision led me to my marriage, to this ministry, and to many things in the future.

I graduated from Point University in May of 2021 with a bachelor’s degree in biology. While a student at Point, I served in Student Life as a Campus Life Minister (CLM) and I was a part of the basketball team for all 4 years. I loved being involved at Point andbeing part of something special. I would not be where I am today without the amazing staff and professors. Every one of them has taught me something and shaped me into the women I am today. I have been at Point for my entire life (literally). My mom has been a professor at Point since before I was born, so I have been part of all the transitions of Point through the years. I am a native of the Valley area and graduated from Point with a degree in Psychology in 2021. While at Point, I was involved in many organizations, including being a Student Ambassador for the Admission Office. Upon graduation, I moved to Atlanta and started working in higher education. After some time, I was called back to Point and have loved being part of the mission and vision that this institution holds its foundation on.
Point is truly my home. I met my lifelong friends here, discovered my purpose, and grew so much in my faith. I would love to help you discover why Point could be your new home. Please feel free to reach out at 706-784-8746 or email me.
