The Point University Young Alumni Council exists to increase meaningful engagement opportunities, outreach and communication to the rapidly expanding group of young alumni. The importance of accepting, encouraging and developing the talents and resources of this growing demographic will be key to continued success in promoting Point University and connecting Point alumni with one another.
2017-18 Council Members
A native of Atlanta, Kenyata Arnold is a 2014 graduate of Point University who has a passion for human resources. She has more than sixteen years of experience and has worked in both the government and private sectors including higher education. Kenyata holds a master’s degree in human resource administration and a graduate certification in leadership.
Brandi and her husband KC live in Sharpsburg, Georgia, and have a son, Kaleb. After graduating from Point with a degree in business administration, Brandi worked at Point in the Admission Office, at Target, and now works at the Chick-fil-A headquarters in East Point.
Monroe Bell studied biblical studies and preaching at Point University. He wanted to stay local after graduation to pursue his love for athletics and serve the University as Assistant Sports Information Director. He now serves as Sports Information Director at University of Antelope Valley in Lancaster, California. He has a deep love for the local church and continues to serve bi-vocationally.
Elizabeth works in the accounting department at Adventures in Mission, an organization that sends missionaries to serve all over the world. She enjoys working in the nonprofit sector because of the value it brings to others. She received her bachelor’s degree in organizational leadership from Point in 2016. She and her husband serve as worship pastors for The River Church, and live in north Georgia with their 2 children.
Tory has been with the University since 2008. As a student, he served as a CLM and was team captain on the men’s basketball team where he was an All-American. Upon graduation, he was awarded the Hathcock Award. Currently, Tory serves as Point’s FCA campus leader and is in his sixth season as the women’s head basketball coach.
Jalen Gardner is a senior at Point University majoring in humanities and biblical studies. He is currently involved in multiple on-campus organizations, serving as president for The Gathering and meeting audio/visual needs at school sanctioned events. After he graduates, Jalen plans on pursuing multiple graduate degrees in intercultural studies and beginning to work with churches to assist with race relations.
Am I a young alumni?
Young Alumni are defined as Point University or Atlanta Christian College graduates who have graduated from any Point program, platform and location within the last 10 calendar years. The council will be comprised of up to 25 individuals consisting of two representatives from each class from the past 10 years, two current students, two alumni (greater than 10 years), and the director of alumni relations.
What are the expectations for council members?
- Participants serve a maximum of 3 years.
- Participants will attend 2 annual meetings at the main campus in West Point, GA at their own expense. One meeting in the fall, another in the spring. Fall meeting corresponds with Homecoming.
- Participants will be actively engaged in council
How can I apply or nominate?
Alumni may apply or be nominated for council positions. Applications must be submitted online and are due by July 31 for the 2018-2019 school year. Applications will be reviewed by the committee and selections finalized by the start of the academic year. Selections will be communicated by email.
