Dual Credit, Traditional Programs on the Rise at Point University!

Point UniversityPoint kicked off the 2016-17 academic year with record numbers in the dual credit enrollment program (DCE) for high school students and traditional on-campus programs. DCE saw record growth more than doubling last year’s enrollment with 593 students, and the traditional program welcomed an additional 36 students over the fall of 2015.

In addition to showing strong growth in these areas, the online program doubled in enrollment from the fall of 2015 with 108 students, and the addition of graduate level studies yielded an inaugural class of 32 in the masters programs. The Access program for adults, offered at six site locations, enrolled 503 students for the fall.

“We are thrilled with the continued growth at Point,” said Stacy Bartlett, Vice President of Enrollment Management. “New students and growth only furthers our mission in educating students to influence culture for Christ.”

The freshman class brought in students from 13 U.S. states and territories, the United Kingdom and Curacao for a total of 253 students. Just over 500 students were moved into Point University housing in the Greater Valley area.

“It is an exciting time of year as we welcome the class of 2020 and all of our returning Skyhawks,” said Laura Schaaf, Dean of Students. “I know the Lord has incredible plans for our community, and we look forward to walking beside them as they mature and develop into the men and women God created them to be.

Total fall enrollment reached 1,986, an increase of 26 percent from fall of 2015.
