On March 30, Point University’s Student Life Office hosted an Easter Eggstravaganza at West Point Park for the communities of West Point, Valley and Lanett.
The vision behind the event was to serve the local community by providing an opportunity for families to have fun together. The event featured games, snacks, face painting, bounce houses, egg hunts and even a visit from the Easter Bunny! Point University students, faculty and staff volunteered in hosting the event by serving snacks, painting faces and overseeing games.
“The Easter Eggstravaganza was absolutely a joy to be a part of,” said Jasmine Griggs ’23. “Being allowed the opportunity to get involved with the community and kids was something that I will cherish forever!”
“We’re excited about the impact made last week at the Easter Eggstravaganza,” said Laura Schaaf, dean of students. “We had 255 volunteers and over 100 families from the community participate. ‘Kids’ of all ages, from two to 22, had fun while we were able to provide a much-needed positive connection after the recent tornado devastation. We are blessed to know the Lord planned ahead of time that we would be able to host this incredible event at just the right time!”
