Marching Skyhawks

The Marching Skyhawks were founded in 2015 and have quickly established a tradition of excellence and achievement in the Southeast. Using a combination of competitive marching style with exciting and entertaining show design, the band performs each year for thousands of fans at home and away football games and in exhibition performances for high school band competitions.

A band scholarship is available for all high school students with marching experience on any brass/woodwind instrument, marching and front ensemble percussion, baton and flags. The scholarship starts at $4,000-5,000 for first-year students and increases with each consecutive year of participation. Concert Band

The Point University Concert Band is a large instrumental ensemble open to all students, faculty and staff members. The goals of this ensemble are to explore the various styles and genres of concert band literature and to give participants an opportunity to develop their ability to listen critically to themselves as individuals and as members of an ensemble.

Concert Choir

The Point University Concert Choir is a mixed vocal ensemble open to any Point University student, faculty or staff member. Each semester, the choir explores a wide variety of repertoire, including sacred and secular styles, ranging from medieval to contemporary works. An emphasis on expression and learning to respond to different musical styles provides members the opportunity to develop individually as vocalists, as well as participants in a performing ensemble.

Choir scholarships are available for full-time Point students with high school or church experience in choir, regardless of major. Please email finearts for more information.


Signature Voices

Signature Voices is an small, auditioned vocal ensemble that performs contemporary a capella music from both sacred and secular genres. This advanced group enjoys a busy tour season during the fall and spring semesters, performing for churches and schools across the Southeast.

String Ensemble

The Point University String Ensemble is open to all students, faculty and staff members and meets in the fall and spring semesters. This small chamber ensemble performs both traditional string works and transcriptions of modern pop tunes for University concerts and recitals and for local community events. Percussion Ensemble

The Point University Percussion Ensemble is open to all students, faculty and staff members and meets in the fall and spring semesters. This group presents works for percussion spanning throughout history, with contemporary premiers and classical transcriptions. The group meets once a week and performs one concert a semester. Jazz Band

The Point University Jazz Band is open to all students, faculty and staff members and meets in the fall and spring semesters. This group presents works for any size mixed ensemble and plays music of multiple genres from the past 200 years. The group meets once a week and performs at concerts throughout both semesters.
