Human Relations Degree

Associate of Arts in Human Relations

The Associate of Arts in Human Relations equips students with a broad grounding in the Liberal Arts, along with a foundational knowledge of the helping profession. Our program combines theoretical perspectives from the social sciences and humanities, organizational studies, and Christian values. Graduates are prepared for entry-level positions in helping professions, and they may also continue their studies to earn the Bachelor of Science degree in human relations, psychology or criminal justice.

Program Goals

The A.A. in human relations builds on the mission and goals of Point University in order to attain Point’s general education competencies and accomplish the following program goals and student learning objectives:

Equip students with a basic theoretical foundation for understanding issues in human relations and related fields.
Equip students to apply basic content, principles, and methodologies of the primary areas of knowledge, including the Humanities, Fine Arts, Social and Behavioral Sciences, Natural Sciences, and Mathematics.
Equip students with a foundation in biblical theology and worldview issues.
Equip students with essential habits and skills for lifelong learning and success.

Bachelor of Science in Human Relations

The Bachelor of Science  in Human Relations integrates a Christian emphasis with the basic research, theories and techniques of the helping professions. Because a graduate degree is expected in the field of counseling, the program has the preparation of students for graduate school as a primary goal. The real world approach of the human relations program is designed to develop a well-rounded professional who can succeed in a variety of human service vocations and equip those preparing to be licensed counselors for graduate school.
