Point University Graduate Programs To Launch In The Fall

Point UniversityPoint University will soon award hoods to graduate students at commencement ceremonies, following Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) approval for the University to offer masters level programs. The Commission announced Point’s graduate-degree accreditation following the body’s June trustees meeting. Two new programs, an MBA in Business Transformation and a Master of Transformative Ministry, will be offered in the fall of 2016.

Both programs will be offered online as well as in a hybrid format, combining traditional classroom education with online programming. The MBA will be composed of a 36-credit hour curriculum, with the option to obtain a lean Six Sigma green or black belt certification. The Master of Transformative Ministry will also feature a 36-hour curriculum, with a four-pronged structure aimed at equipping students for dynamic roles in churches and nonprofit organizations.

“Offering graduate degree programs is a natural extension of the growth and transformation Point University has undergone over the last several years,” said Dean Collins, university president. “We are thrilled for students to continue their educational journeys here, and we look forward to continuing to shape the Christian leaders who will be points of influence in ministry and business in the future.”

In addition to receiving accreditation for graduate level programs, Point University also received reaffirmation of accreditation for undergraduate programs following the decennial SACSCOC review in the fall of 2015.
