Courses Taught

Old Testament, New Testament, Theology, Preaching, and Ministry courses. (Greek and Hebrew if we ever have that in CGPS)

Where are you from?

I was born in Germany, but I am a child of the South, and Atlanta has been my home for the last 35 years.

What brought me to Point?

My previous job was creating and running a four-year Bible college at Phillips State Prison in North Georgia. The goal of that program was to train and equip inmates of faith to become pastors inside the prison system. I came to Point as the interim VP in charge of the non-traditional adult program (a precursor to CGPS).

What are some of your hobbies?

Travel, photography, computers, riding a tandem bicycle with my wife, and target shooting

Are there any interesting facts about yourself that you would like to share with new or current Point students?

Keep things in perspective. If God has called you to Point University as a student, you can be sure of two things. The first is that God will provide for you in ways that you can’t even imagine. Be on the alert for His help, guidance and deliverance. The second is that Satan is not happy that you are pursuing a Christian education and will put stumbling blocks in your path. Don’t let the stumbling blocks keep you from getting what God wants you to have.

What are your research interests?

Understanding how a knowledge of the culture of the Old/New Testament times and a study of the literary genres in the Bible can help us understand how to interpret and preach the Bible. In academic terms, this is known as Social Science and Literary criticism. I have a particular interest in the Gospel of Mark, Corinthians, Jonah and Isaiah.
