Point University seeks the comprehensive growth of the student as a whole person—supplying academic, spiritual, social, and professional support opportunities. All of our academic support services are free and our intention is to empower and coach the student to achieve their goals of success. We can work one-on-one to develop a customized success plan or in small groups to provide an array of related trainings like study skills and time management. We want to help you year-round to develop positive academic habits, explore your vision, realize your goals, and navigate the overall student experience. What do we do?

Academic Advisors develop a personalized course schedule, complete “Plan of Study” from initial enrollment to graduation and connect students to other services when needed, such as financial counseling, learning assistance, student life, career services and more.

  • To assist our residential community, Academic Advisors work with students for their first two years and then work with Faculty Advisors who guide the students during their last two years of school.
  • To assist our online community, Academic Advisors work with students for the duration of their program with additional support from faculty advisors.

The Academic Advisors are available to assist all students and offer orientations, explain requirements and procedures, suggest coursework appropriate to students’ career goals, aid with course registration, and recommend ways to improve academic performance.

Students may contact The Advising Center by telephone, email, videoconference, or face-to-face meetings at the West Point campus. All students are assigned an Academic Advisor based on their program.

Career Services

Counseling Services

College is one of the most exciting times in a student’s life, but it is also one of the most stressful. Moving away from home, learning to study and take tests in a whole new way, getting to know new people… all of these changes can produce anxiety, depression or other difficulties.

Any student who is struggling to adjust, or is simply going through a tough time in life, is encouraged to seek counseling through the Student Life or Counseling Offices. Point University provides limited on-campus counseling services for students. To schedule an appointment, email counseling@point.edu or visit the Counseling Office in the Scott Fine Arts Center. Consultations are confidential.

Students desiring counseling may also utilize telehealth services through the Virtual Care Group. Click the appropriate link below to get started.
