Hope: Discovering Life through Engaging the Body of Christ

Chapel this week is all about discovering life through engaging the one Body of Christ. Before coming to Point, I didn’t realize how important community was to my relationship with Christ. After coming here, I found a group of believers that I was able to build relationships with, which helped me understand the importance of Christian community. Along with that, they taught me the importance of serving as the Body of Christ.

Learning the importance of serving is so important. It’s a skill every Christian should learn, and it’s one that should unite us with people who are different from us. In fact, learning to serve others that are different from you helps to grow your understanding of the world. I am so proud that Point is so diverse regarding race, ethnicity, and even gender. We will get to see a beautiful example of that at chapel this week with a couple of our female professors teaching us from the Word of God.

In Galatians 3:28, Paul talks about how there is neither Jew nor Gentile, slave nor free, male or female; and my dream is to see that through the lives of those of us here at Point University. We have so many great opportunities at Point to serve those that are different than us and to live out Galatians 3:28. Jews and Gentiles, slave and free, male and female, black and white—we should not be separated and judged by those different than us. We should be united and willing to learn from each other.
