TEDxPointUniversity 2018 will take place on Friday, September 14, 2018, in the New Horizon Theater in West Point, Georgia. The goal of this event is to challenge listeners to think with a new perspective and to use their impact for a greater purpose.

Our inspirational speakers include students of Point University, past and present, and leaders within the community Point calls home.  The live presentations will cover topics that can benefit individuals and society as a whole, aligning with the TED mission to “foster learning, inspiration, and wonder” and our TEDxPointUniversity theme: “Growth”.

What is a TEDx?

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TED has created a program called TEDx. TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. Our event is called TEDxPointUniversity, where x = independently organized TED event. At our TEDxPointUniversity event, TED Talks video and live speakers will combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events, including ours, are self-organized.

Why This Theme?

The theme of this year’s conference is growth, and through this theme, we hope to capture the concepts of progress, expansion, improvement and development.

Across all fields of study, from ministry to management, psychology to science, a common theme in most areas of life is growth and progress.

It is through personal growth that individual’ betters themselves. It is through corporate growth that businesses become more profitable. It is through the expansion of the mind and the spirit that we witness humanity flourish.

At Point University we invest in growth! The betterment of the individual, the development of teams and organizations, the expansion of the mind and the deepening of the spirit is core to what we do.

We hope that by being a part of TEDxPointUniversity, you will experience growth, benefiting you and the organizations you serve! TED is built on the ethos of “ideas worth sharing,” and we believe these ideas involve growth, expansion, improvement and development.
