Admission Requirements
To apply for the Master’s of Business Administration program, applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree and fulfill the admissions requirements below:
Step 1: Submit an Online Application
Complete the free online application.
If you are applying through the Elevate program, please click this link.
Step 2: Submit Official Academic Transcripts
Submit official academic transcripts from every college or university previously attended. Official transcripts must be submitted directly to Admission Office.
You may mail or email your official transcripts to:
Point University Admission Office
817 3rd Avenue
West Point, GA 31833
Email: AdmissionDocuments@point.edu
Students who graduated from non-U.S. or non-English-speaking institutions must provide Point University with a certified translation of transcripts and course descriptions, as well as a detailed and comprehensive transcript evaluation.
Step 3: Submit a Resumé
Submit a resumé that documents volunteer or professional experience. Include contact information (name, telephone number, email address) for two professional references who can speak to your character, ability, and readiness for graduate studies.
Step 4: Submit a Well Written, 1-2 Page Admission Essay
Applicants to the Point University MBA program are expected to approach this essay with original authorship and in their own words. Remember, this is the admission committee’s chance to hear directly from you, so you are expected to write it yourself, not with the help of artificial intelligence (AI). Essays that appear to be generated or substantially written by AI will be flagged for review and may require a follow-up conversation with the director of graduate studies.
Write a 1–2-page essay responding to the following prompt:
- Introduce yourself: tell us who you are: share your values, your ability to overcome challenges, and how you approach your vocation and calling;
- Why Point: tell us why you chose to apply to Point University and to the MBA specifically – your essay should be specific to this university and program
- Share your experience: tell us about your academic and professional experiences and why an MBA is a good fit for your context
- Share your goals: share your career goals for the next 3-5 years and how you believe the Point MBA will specifically help you achieve your goals
- Wrap up with a clear conclusion and anything else you think is relevant as the admission committee reviews your application.
Remember, this essay shows us who you are and demonstrates your capability to write well at the graduate level. You can (and should) use spellcheck and grammar tools built into word processors. All writing should be your original work (no built-in tools like Co-Pilot should be used to rewrite full sentences). A genuine introduction to the applicant helps us get to know you!
Step 5: Submit Evidence of Higher Level Skills
Submit evidence of higher level communication skills, team work, continuous research, critical thinking and decision making. Evidence could include one or more of the following:
- Samples of academic or professional research and writing ability, such as research papers, published articles, sermons, or work products.
- Professional licensures, certifications, training experiences, awards or achievements
- Official scores for standardized tests*, such as the:
- Graduate Record Examination
- Graduate Management Admissions Test
- Miller Analogies Test
- If English is not the applicant’s first language, demonstrate English speaking and writing proficiency.
*Standardized tests are not required for admission but may be submitted for evidence of skills.
Admission Process
After all required items are received, Point’s graduate admission committee evaluates the application and notifies students of their admission status. If needed, the committee may request additional information to evaluate the applicant’s readiness for graduate studies.
Applicants are encouraged to begin and complete the admission process as soon as possible. Adequate time must be given for other institutions to send transcripts and documentation to the Admission Office. Failure to receive all official transcripts delays processing of an application.
