Point University is a private institution that educates students to impact culture for Christ. The University provides a broad, comprehensive curriculum designed to prepare students for their chosen professions, awarding associate, bachelor’s and master’s degrees. Point is equipping the next generation to take their faith into the marketplace in new and culturally relevant ways — to erase the lines between who they are and what they do so that they see life and mission as one and the same. Please see the categories below to find out more about ways you can partner with us here at Point University.

The Point University Fund

A gift to the Point University Fund is an investment in the lives of the next generation Christian leaders. Donations made to the Point University Fund help keep tuition costs low and give more students access to quality Christian education.

The Point University Fund provides the resources necessary to award millions of dollars’ worth of scholarships to students each year. With your generous gifts and our outstanding faculty and staff, we are educating more students for service in the Kingdom of God.

Dr. Eddie Groover Memorial Fund

Dr. Eddie Groover ’67, chancellor emeritus, passed away on July 3 after an extended illness. All who knew him can attest to Dr. Groover’s kindness, intelligence and generosity. A gift to this fund will assist in naming the Learning Commons in the Lanier Academic Center in memory of Dr. Groover.

GAP Scholarship

Help change the trajectory of students’ lives by giving them an education through the GAP Scholarship! Our staff will work with nonprofits and churches to find students in your area who don’t have access to college education, and students only pay for materials and books!

Fine Arts

The Point University Department of Fine Arts offers students the opportunity to develop their musical skills in a Christian atmosphere, learn from highly-qualified music educators and enjoy the rich cultural opportunities that the Point community has to offer. Our music degrees prepare students for performance, music ministry, music education or specialized graduate study.

The Department of Fine Arts offers a variety of musical ensemble opportunities that perform at regularly-scheduled concerts, recitals, and other events throughout the year. For more information, please visit the Department of Fine Arts website at point.edu/finearts.

Athletics

Point University is home to 19 NAIA athletic teams. The dedication of our Skyhawk athletes is visible on and off the field. During the 2019-20 school year, Point had 36 student-athletes named to the Appalachian Athletic Conference All-Conference Academic Team. Skyhawk spirit is an integral part of the Point community. Gifts made to support Point University Athletics help with travel costs, uniforms, equipment, and athletic scholarships.

Endowed Scholarships

A Point University Endowed Scholarship is a scholarship fund set up by a donor to continue their legacy or a loved one’s legacy. These scholarships are given to students that fit the criteria specified by the donor to support students financially during their academic journey. At Point University, we strive to facilitate communication between the student scholarship recipient and the donor, so the donor is able to experience directly the value and impact of their giving. If you are interested in continuing your legacy with Point University, please feel free to contact our Advancement team to discuss the needs of our students and ways you can make an impact for generations to come.
