A Message from the President

Students in front of college building

We are excited to welcome the students starting classes this week to kick off the new school year at Point University! It brings me great joy to announce that Point University reached a remarkable milestone by welcoming its largest-ever class in 2023-24, consisting of 2,827 students. This achievement would not have been possible without the incredible support of our dedicated alumni and friends. Despite the enrollment challenges encountered by many institutions, Point University is thriving and expanding, providing a range of modalities, including residential, online and dual-credit enrollment.

Our game-changing Elevate program was launched in spring 2022. It has driven our increased enrollment and sparked a new wave of accessibility in Christian higher education. This program, designed to make college affordable to all, allows employers to partner with Point by paying an annual fee that enables their employees to take online college classes for free. Your prayers and the hard work of our staff have directly contributed to this miracle of accessibility and innovation. Elevate is a testament to our mission, legacy and values, and we are proud to see it reflected in an ever-growing student body.

Can you believe 1,575 students took classes in our College of Biblical Studies and Ministry this past year? When I think of the impact this training will make through these young lives for the future of the gospel, I am humbled; I am also motivated to enroll even more students, bringing them under the influence of the power of the scriptures and the loving guidance and teaching of our dedicated and talented biblical faculty.

Front of academic building

In keeping with this year’s spiritual formation theme, Co-Mission (Matthew 28:19), I am thrilled to share the funding at Point University of the Center for Compelling Preaching. Part of Lilly Endowment’s Compelling Preaching Initiative, the Center supports preaching that inspires individuals to deepen their faith and live out their biblical convictions in proclamation and practical ministry. It brings a new generation of aspiring preachers together in peer groups to hone and develop their preaching craft and helps them learn with godly and seasoned mentors. Through this program, we are steadfast in our mission of educating students for Christ-centered leadership and service, positively impacting the world. Your support ensures Point University faithfully fulfills our Co-Mission – that Christ will forever be preached at Point!

As we embark on this new academic year filled with promise and opportunity, I invite you to celebrate Point University’s achievements and advancements. Your financial gift at the beginning of the academic year is crucial to our continued success, enabling us to provide exceptional Christ-centered educational experiences and opportunities for our students. To make a gift, please visit point.edu/give.

Finally, thank you for your prayers and the kind words of support we often receive from so many. We do not advance without them. There has never been a time when Point University’s purpose and mission were more crucial in reaching the world for Jesus Christ.

With your support and God’s blessing, new milestones lie ahead for 2024-25.
