Point University Announces New President
Point University’s board of trustees announced that Dr. Stacy A. Bartlett has been selected as the University’s eighth president, becoming the first woman to hold the position. Bartlett, who currently serves as chief of staff, was chosen after an extensive national search and will succeed Dean C. Collins, who will retire and transition to chancellor in summer 2025.
“Dr. Bartlett is an exceptional leader who is deeply committed to the Lord and our mission,” said Amory Scott, chair of the search committee. Bartlett, a 2005 Point graduate, holds an MBA and a doctorate in higher education leadership.
“She has a clear vision for the future of this university,” said André Kennebrew, board chair. Bartlett’s appointment follows a search process that included interviews with 40 candidates.
“I am humbled to be called to serve Point as president, and I am thankful to the search committee and the board for the opportunity,” said Bartlett. “I will be following in the footsteps of great leaders who have guided Point to where it is today. With the Lord’s help, I’m committed to working with the Point community to accomplish our mission of educating students for Christ-centered service and leadership around the world.”
Bartlett will assume the role on July 1, with a formal installation to follow. Collins, who was not involved in the presidential search process, will leave office on June 30. As chancellor, he will continue to serve as an ambassador for the University and lead special projects.
