The focus of the B.A. in history program is historical information and interpretation. Students examine sources both old and new, including text, art, music, images and film while seeking to understand the human experience and appreciate the “how” and “why” of those who came before.
History graduates often choose education as a vocation. The history program also paves the way for graduate work in college teaching, archival studies and law school.

Students can select study abroad or internships in the field of history. Students have served as interns at the Little White House, the National Civil War Naval Museum, and the Biblical History Center. Study abroad opportunities occur alternate spring semesters and primarily include travel to Europe.
