A message from the Dean of the College of Education and Behavioral Sciences

Thank you for your interest in the Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) degree. This robust program represents the latest chapter in our ongoing commitment to excellence, joining a lineup of superlative offerings that have helped our graduates launch successful careers across many fields.

The College of Education and Behavioral Sciences offers a diverse range of academic programs including criminal justice, psychology, counseling, and social work, as well as education degrees including elementary, middle, secondary, and special education, and a non-certified teaching degree in child and youth development and online child development.

At Point University, our mission goes beyond academics. While students receive a high-quality education, our faculty and staff are united by a deeper purpose: supporting students in a personal and caring environment. Whether you choose to study on campus or online, you’ll build meaningful relationships with your professors, who are genuinely invested in your success.

Graduates from our college pursue impactful careers in social work, education, law enforcement, counseling, and more. Many continue their journey in graduate school, and our programs are intentionally designed to prepare students for both acceptance and achievement at the graduate level. In fact, from the launch of our first social sciences degree in 1991 through 2017, 100% of our students who applied to graduate school were accepted—and every one of them completed their program.

Our friendly admissions team and dedicated SABS faculty are here to guide you, answer your questions, and help you take the next step toward a meaningful future.

Susan S. Ryan, Ed.D.

“I came to Point because it was close to home, but what kept me at Point was the community and the relationships I built. The relationships weren’t just my peers, but with professors. They helped me understand my calling. After working closely with them, I realized I could take the things I am passionate about and turn them into a career.”
