The Byron and Katie Cartwright Music Scholarship
Music scholarships are available for a limited number students and are based on a student’s audition and application.
Dual Credit Enrollment Scholarship
Students who are enrolled in the Dual-Credit Program.
IT Certification Scholarship
The Information Technology Certification Scholarship is awarded to one full-time student in an IT degree program per fall and spring semester.

Byron and Katie Cartwright Music Scholarship
Music scholarships are available for a limited number of talented students. Scholarships are based on a student’s audition and application. Please refer to the Music Scholarship Application Form for full details on this process.
Scholarship values range depending on student talent, need and availability. Contact Fine Arts at 706-385-1049 or by email.
Scholarships are awarded on a rolling basis, and determinations will be made the semester before your start date.
Community Service Scholarship
*For incoming freshmen*
Point University is committed to service in the community and rewards students for those services during their time in high school. This scholarship amounts to $500 per year and is renewable by maintaining a 2.50 cumulative GPA at Point University. Additionally, applicants must submit documentation of at least 50 hours of community service during their senior year of high school. Student athletes and marching band members are not eligible to apply. Maximum of four scholarships will be awarded each year.
DCE Transition Scholarship
Current Point University dual-credit enrollment students may qualify. This scholarship amounts to $500 per year and is renewable by maintaining a 2.00 GPA (must be a full-time residential student not enrolled in the dual enrollment program).
DCE Transition Honors Scholarship
Students who complete at least 12 hours of Point University credit with at least a 3.0 GPA are eligible to qualify. This scholarship amounts to $1000 per year and is renewable by maintaining a 3.00 GPA (must be a full-time student not enrolled in the dual enrollment program). Student athletes and marching band members are not eligible to apply. Maximum of five scholarships will be awarded each year.
Endowed Scholarship
Point offers a number of endowed scholarships provided from funds given by generous donors in honor of or in memory of loved ones, churches, etc. Each spring, traditional students will receive notification via e-mail of the endowed scholarship application process, qualifications for receipt of an endowed scholarship, and deadlines for application.
Event Recruitment Scholarship
Select scholarships will be permitted for promotion of recruitment events. Drawings will be held for each event from list of attendees.
First-Generation Student Scholarship
Freshmen attending Point University as a first-generation college student (the first person in your immediate family to attend college) may qualify for this scholarship. This scholarship amounts to $500 per year and is renewable by maintaining a 2.00 GPA at Point University. “First-Generation” status must be verified by submitted FAFSA. Student athletes and marching band members are not eligible to apply. Maximum of five scholarships will be awarded each year.
Founders Scholarship
Students seeking enrollment at Point are only considered for the Founders Scholarship when they have met the following qualifications:
- Must be an incoming first-year student and must live on campus each term enrolled.
- Possess a 3.5 GPA in high school coursework.
- Possess a combined SAT score of 1310 (Evidence-Based Reading and Writing, and Math) or an ACT score of 27.
- Provide a written essay about why a Point University education is important and why he or she desires to attend the University.
The scholarship covers room and board*, as well as all tuition and fees and is available for two students each year. The Founders Scholarship is renewable based on a 3.5 cumulative GPA at Point for a maximum of four years.
*Scholarship covers 15-meal plan. Student will be required to pay difference if 19-meal plan is selected

Information Technology Certification Application Scholarship
The Department of Information Technology in the College of Arts and Sciences at Point University offers IT students who meet the scholarship requirements listed below the opportunity to apply for the IT Certification Scholarship. This scholarship is designed to cover the costs associated with industry certification exams that align with concepts taught in Point University classes.
To be considered for the IT Certification Scholarship, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- The applicant must be currently enrolled full-time in any Information Technology degree program at Point University.
- The applicant must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 out of a 4.0 scale.
- The applicant must attain at least a grade of “B” in the relevant course(s) preparing the student for the specified IT certification exam(s).
- Applicants attempting to receive a scholarship for the CompTIA A+ exams must have completed both CISM 210/215.
- Applicants attempting to receive a scholarship for the CompTIA Security+ exam must have completed both CISM 320/325.
- The applicant must be registered as an Academic CompTIA member using a Point University email address.

Intercollegiate Tuition Waiver Program
The President’s Association of Christian Colleges & Universities has established the Intercollegiate Tuition Waiver Program (ITWP) for qualified dependents of full-time employees at participating institutions.
Merit-Based Scholarship
All students seeking enrollment at Point are automatically considered for merit-based scholarships when they complete the regular admission process. These scholarship amounts vary and are based on high-school/transfer GPA and SAT-I/ACT scores.
Scholarships are awarded on a rolling basis, and determinations will be made the semester before your start date.
Out-of-State Scholarship
Freshmen attending Point University from outside the state of Georgia may qualify for the out-of-state scholarship by achieving a 3.00 high school GPA (GPA can be evaluated prior to graduation but final GPA will also be reviewed). This scholarship amounts to $2,500 per year and is renewable by maintaining a 3.00 GPA at Point University. Student athletes and marching band members are not eligible to apply. Maximum of five scholarships will be awarded.
Point Legacy Scholarship
Transfer students attending Point University that are a dependent of a Point University graduated alum may qualify for this scholarship. This scholarship amounts to $250 per year and is renewable by maintaining a 2.00 GPA. Student athletes and marching band members are not eligible to apply.
Sons and Daughters of Ministry Scholarship
Transfer students attending Point University that are a dependent of full time vocational ministry/mission parent(s) may qualify. This scholarship amounts to $250 per year and is renewable by maintaining a 2.00 GPA. Student athletes and marching band members are not eligible to apply. Maximum of four scholarships will be awarded each year.
Transfer Scholarship
Students transferring to Point University from another institution with at least a 2.50 GPA are eligible to qualify for this scholarship. This scholarship amounts to $500 per year and is renewable by maintaining a 2.50 GPA at Point University. Participation in dual-credit enrollment at another institution does not qualify as transfer status. Student athletes and marching band members are not eligible to apply. Maximum of five scholarships will be awarded each year.
