PEACHTREE CITY, GA – With the start of not only a new year but also the new decade, the National Conference of Minority Public Administrators (COMPA) gathered to discuss 2020 Vision: refocusing, reforming and restoring public service values and governance.
Point University had the opportunity to sponsor this four-day event lead by COMPA President and Point University professor Kristie Roberts-Lewis.
The conference consisted of several keynote speakers, breakout sessions, a student public policy debate and networking socials. Speakers included community leaders such as Ambassador Andrew Young, Deputy Director Angelia Walker, Senior Principal Program Lead André Kennebrew, and Chief Executive Officer Darlene Drew.
Founded in 1971, COMPA provides an opportunity for dialogue about a variety of issues through discussion, lectures and debate. The speakers represented several industries including aerospace engineering, military contracting, higher education, and criminal justice.
Understanding the need to discuss and share new ideas in challenging times, Point University is excited to enroll students in its M.P.A program. The University plans to launch its online M.P.A. program in August 2020.
