Homecoming Weekend Set for October 19-21

Point University will celebrate Homecoming weekend on its West Point campus on October 19-21. Alumni from all campuses are encouraged to attend and reconnect with classmates, faculty and staff.

The weekend’s events will kick off on Thursday evening at the campus chapel service at Spring Road Christian Church. Following chapel, the Glow Run, a one-mile walk/run through downtown West Point, will take place.

On Friday, guests can enjoy campus tours, followed by the Milestones Luncheon honoring alumni who graduated 25 or 50 years ago. In the afternoon, alumni can celebrate the release of Dr. Holly Carey’s book, Women Who Do, at a book launch party in the Preaching Lab. Young alumni — those who have graduated in the last ten years — are invited to reconnect with fellow alumni at a bowling event at the Valley Bowlin’ Alley.

Friday evening, alumni and the community are welcome to attend the Homecoming concert, held in the Scott Fine Arts Center at 7 p.m., in memory of Dr. Eddie Groover. During the concert, the Point University Concert Choir will perform, and they will be joined by an alumni choir. A reception will be held in the Hub after the concert.

On Saturday morning, everyone is invited to join the alumni tailgate at Ram Stadium in Valley, Alabama. The Skyhawk football team will take on Reinhardt University at 1 p.m.

Please make plans to join us for the weekend’s events. All events are free to attend, but registration is required at point.edu/homecoming.
