Point University Becomes Cisco Networking Partner

Point University was recently selected to be a Cisco Networking Academy member.

Cisco Systems, Inc. is a multinational digitial communications technology conglomerate that provides IT services across five major technology areas: networking, security, collaboration, data centers, and the Internet of things.

Cisco Networking Academy is a skills-to-jobs program offering technology education through public-private partnerships, high-quality curriculum, and inclusive workforce development programs. Cisco is the longest-running purpose-driven learning and skills development program of its kind.

“Our fundamental goal is to prepare students for ethical leadership and vocational excellence in the IT field whether it be in network administration or information systems security,” said Chris Simonavice, associate professor of information technology and department chair.. “Partnering with Cisco will allow Point University to offer its students a more comprehensive education utilizing its practical, real-world curriculum. We will also be able to offer students discounted certification exams as well as access to job opportunities with Cisco partner organizations through the Talent Bridge program.”
