Point Joins Online Learning Consortium

In accordance with an expansion of its online program offerings, Point University is proud to announce membership in the Online Learning Consortium (OLC). The OLC is an organization focused on enhancing online education by providing resources, instruction and workshops to professionals in higher education.

“We are pleased to accept membership in this organization,” said Dr. Chris Davis, vice president for graduate and professional studies. “We will have access to tools and resources to deliver an even better education to our online student population. Their dedication to the five pillars of quality education—learning, faculty, students, scale and access align with our goals in delivering the best educational opportunity possible.”

Providing a series of conferences, workshops, webinars, podcasts and research materials, the OLC provides cutting edge research and recommendations to higher education institutions committed to delivering a great student experience. Point faculty and staff will have access to many of these professional development opportunities, taking what they learn into the virtual classroom.

Valarie Williams, director of online learning and chair of the arts and sciences department, looks forward to utilizing the resources available through OLC. “We’re excited to implement the OLC rubric for instructional design and to provide our faculty with quality webinars and additional professional development opportunities.”
