Point University has been named an NAIA Champions of Character Five-Star Award winner, earning the prestigious gold medallion for the third consecutive year.
The Champions of Character Five-Star Award was awarded by the NAIA to 210 member institutions for the 2024-25 academic year.
“I’m incredibly proud that we’ve received the NAIA Champions of Character Gold recognition for the third consecutive year,” said Jaunelle White, vice president of intercollegiate athletics and chief student development officer. “This honor reflects not only the efforts of our athletic department but also the shared commitment of our entire University community. The dedication to character and excellence shown by our students, coaches, faculty, and staff is the foundation of this achievement. I’m confident that together, we will continue to uphold and exceed these standards in the years to come.”
Institutions are measured by a commitment to Champions of Character and earn points in character training, conduct in competition, academic focus, character recognition and character promotion. Institutions earn points based on exceptional student-athlete grade point averages and by having minimal to no ejections during competition throughout the course of the academic year.
Champions of Character is built upon five core values designed to help young people make good choices in all aspects of their life. These core values are integrity, respect, responsibility, sportsmanship and servant leadership.
