Point University will welcome high school students to its West Point campus for the Pursue Conference on Thursday, March 20.
The Pursue Conference at Point University is a one-day event, in conjunction with Christ In Youth (CIY), for high school students who are interested in a career in vocational ministry. Students will get the chance to explore campus life, meet the College of Biblical Studies and Ministry faculty, and hear from ministry experts who have years of experience.
Conference attendees will participate in the University’s spring Ministry Seminar that morning. The seminar speaker is Cam Huxford, Point University alumnus and former pastor of Compassion Christian Church in Savannah, Georgia. He will share with local ministry leaders and students on reaching our neighbors with the gospel.
In the afternoon, attendees will visit Point University classrooms, meet students and faculty members, and have the opportunity to learn more about the degrees and programs the University offers.
That evening, students will attend a monthly chapel service and worship with current Point University students. The March chapel speaker is Pastor Philip Anthony Mitchell of 2819 Church.
“We want the Pursue Conference to be a place where students will see God move in a mighty way,” said Jon Reynolds, director of campus ministry and spiritual formation. “Students will get to see what it’s like to really be in a microcosm where God is developing them and could be developing them for the next four years.”
The event is free and lunch and dinner will be provided, but registration is required. Those unable to attend in person can participate in a virtual event on Thursday, February 27. To view the full schedule and to register, visit point.edu/pursue.
