Point University students, faculty and staff completed service projects across the Greater Valley Area today during the University’s annual Impact Day event.
On Impact Day, classes were cancelled so that students, faculty and staff could participate in one of 17 service projects. The Point community partnered with local businesses, churches and other nonprofits to serve a variety of needs, ranging from landscaping work to cleaning and painting.
“We’re so excited to give back to our community,” said volleyball player Jordyn Thompson ’28. “They do so much for us. They come out and support our athletes and fine arts students, so it’s important for us to let them know we appreciate them and support them
right back.”
The day began with a University-wide chapel service, where Dr. Joshua Rice, of biblical studies, encouraged students to think about living like Jesus did.
“Impact Day is so important,” said Marjorie Rodriguez ’26. “In chapel this morning, we talked about being the hands and feet of God, and that shows in everything we’re doing in our community today.”
Impact Day is held annually during the spring semester.
