“What is God’s will for my life?”
This is a common question that every believer asks themselves as they ponder their future plans. Life decisions are rarely easy. The decisions we make can truly impact who we become and often set us on a certain path in life.
The biggest decision I faced was after my second year at a community college, when I had to decide between two universities that I would attend. They both seemed like great institutions to be a part of, but there was one that stood out to me the most. The reason it did was because I knew that if I decided to attend this university, it would stretch me out of my comfort zone and challenge me to grow in different ways. Deep down, God placed Point University in my heart but I kept refusing to take that step because I was afraid to step out of my comfort zone. It wasn’t fully clear to me until later that God had a specific plan for me, and that plan shaped me to be who I am today.
As I continued to pray and asked others to pray for me, a pastor from my home church spoke that following Sunday about getting out of our comfort zone. He said that God wanted to bless us and mold us to be all that we can be but we have to step out. After that sermon, three people who had been praying for 
me came and told me that they thought about me throughout the sermon.
This was my confirmation to attend Point University.
My first year at Point impacted me in ways I can’t even fully explain. I received the love and community that I’ve always desired from a collegiate environment. I was immersed in different cultures and grew in all aspects of my life. Being at Point helped me see the love and unity of the body of Christ through the professors and the student body. It was great to be a part of a family at Point.
When I graduated, my Point story didn’t end there. In 2013 I was given the opportunity to join the admissions team as an admissions counselor. My duties involve counseling prospective applicants through the admission process and making them aware of all of the opportunities at the University. This has been a great opportunity for me to express the impact Point has had in my life to potential students. As an admissions counselor, I have the opportunity to influence the life and decisions of young people who are making one of the biggest decisions of their lives. I’m honored to be in this role and to help assist in this life-changing process. I see the position as a ministry. As I am building my skills to influence, I am also given the opportunity to guide prospective students toward their goals.
Students are not only being educated at Point University but they are also being transformed by the impact of their professors and the fellowship of their peers. Attending a Christian University challenged me in my education and shaped me to be the woman of God that He desires for me to be for His glory. More than anything, I want others to see the value of a Christian education. I realize that putting Christ at the center of an institution brings a deeper value to education in itself. Christ gives meaning and purpose in all things.
