Point to Host Fall Ministry Seminar on November 2

Point University will host its annual fall Ministry Seminar on Thursday, November 2 in the Scott Fine Arts Center on its West Point campus.

This semester’s seminar will focus on “Sharpening Your Preaching” for local pastors and ministry workers. Some of the subjects to be discussed are preaching on difficult subjects, collaborating on sermon preparation, preaching to different generations, planning your preaching, preparing a variety of sermons, and more. The seminar’s presenters are all faculty members of the College of Biblical Studies and Ministry, including Jim Donovan, Wye Huxford, Nathan Jones, Holly Carey, Josh Rice and more.

“This year’s fall ministry seminar is designed to help those who attend sharpen their preaching skills,” said Mike Waers, director of church relations. “When you preach every week, it is easy to get in a rut. Our seminar will help you discover new ways to bring life, meaning and practical application to your sermons.”

Among many other helpful resources that will be available at the seminar, Point is also offering a giveaway of Carey Nieuwhof and Mark Clark’s The Art of Preaching. This online course offers resources to help pastors craft compelling, engaging and relevant sermons. The course, which typically costs $447, will be made available to three attendees free of charge. The giveaway winners will be announced during the seminar.

The seminar will begin at 10 a.m. and end at noon. Snacks and lunch are provided. Attendees are encouraged to stay for lunch in order to connect and collaborate with the presenters and other attendees.

This event is free, but registration is required. More information and registration can be found by visiting point.edu/ministryseminar.
