Point University was recently named an authorized partner with CompTIA, the Computing Technology Industry Association.
CompTIA exists to promote growth in the information technology industry by providing education, training, certifications, philanthropy and market research. CompTIA’s goal is “the development of a highly-skilled workforce and a commitment to creating an environment where innovation happens and opportunities and benefits made possible through technology are available to all.” Through their Academy Partner program, they provide resources for recruiting, training, certifying and upgrading the skills of students in IT.
“We selected CompTIA as a partner because CompTIA is the world’s largest provider of vendor-neutral IT certifications,” said Chris Simonavice, associate professor of information technology at Point University. “The partnership will provide our students with high-quality IT curriculum, industry standard learning resources and discounted exams.”
Point University’s IT curriculum is strategically aligned with five CompTIA professional certifications that are widely acknowledged as an international quality standard for IT professionals. “By partnering with CompTIA, Point University is giving our students the opportunity to earn industry-recognized professional certifications during their path towards either an online associate or bachelor’s degree in IT. The partnership with CompTIA sets our students up for both academic and career success,” said Simonavice.
