SHARPSBURG, GA – Point University graduated 93 students in a commencement ceremony at Crossroads Church in Sharpsburg, Georgia on Saturday.
During commencement, President Dean Collins ‘79 presented the highest honor for a Point graduate, the Hathcock Award, which recognizes an outstanding student who has excelled in academics, leadership and Christian character while at Point.
Online student Deborah Gilbert of Lanett, Alabama received the award. Gilbert earned a bachelor of science in business administration. Charlotte Havrisik, of Riverside, California, received the Hathcock Award for the residential campus in West Point, Georgia. Havrisik earned a bachelor of science in psychology.
The commencement address was delivered by Audrey Hollingsworth, the vice president of people services at Goodwill Industries of the Southern Rivers and a certified Sherpa executive coach.
Hollingsworth encouraged the graduates to remember “The ABCDs,” an acronym to inspire, encourage and challenge graduates as they move on from the waiting space after completion of their college degree. This acronym stands for “the path of pressure; accept 100% responsibility for your life; be the best version of yourself; challenge the status quo; and decide the person and leader you want to be.”
